Ingredients

  • 55g instant grits
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 180m1 milk, whole or 2%
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 85g cream cheese, at room temperature 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 115g shredded mild Cheddar cheese 1 to 2 tablespoons oil
  • Ninja Double Stack XL 9.5L Air Fryer – SL400

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the grits, salt, and pepper. Stir in the milk, egg, cream cheese, and butter until blended. Stir in the Cheddar cheese.
  2. Spritz an air fryer—safe pan with oil. Insert a crisper plate in the zone 1 basket.
  3. Pour the grits mixture into the prepared pan and place it in the zone 1 basket, then insert the baskets in the unit.
  4. Turn the dial to select AIR FRY, set the temperature to 200°C, and set the time to 5 minutes. Press START/PAUSE to begin cooking.
  5. Stir the mixture and cook for 5 minutes more for soupy grits or 7 minutes more for firmer grits.
