Ingredients

  • 2 Granny Smith apples
  • 20 g certified gluten-free rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 250 g sliced fresh strawberries
  • 95 g sliced rhubarb
  • 75 g granulated sugar
  • 60 g quick-cooking oatmeal
  • 50 g whole-wheat pastry flour, or plain flour
  • 50 g packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Directions

  1. Honeyed, Roasted Apples with Walnuts :
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 190°C.
  3. Core the apples and slice them in half.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix together the oats, honey, cinnamon, walnuts, salt, and olive oil.
  5. Scoop a quarter of the oat mixture onto the top of each half apple.
  6. Place the apples in the zone 1 air fryer basket, and roast for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the apples are fork tender.
  7. Rhubarb and Strawberry Crumble:
  8. Preheat the air fryer to 190°C.
  9. In a 6-by-2-inch round metal baking pan, combine the strawberries, rhubarb, and granulated sugar.
  10. In a medium bowl, stir together the oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir the melted butter into this mixture until crumbly. Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the fruit.
  11. Once the unit is preheated, place the pan into the zone 2 basket.
  12. Bake for 12 minutes then check the crumble. If the fruit is bubbling and the topping is golden brown, it is done. If not, resume cooking.
  13. When the cooking is complete, serve warm.
