Ingredients

  • oil for misting or cooking spray
  • 270g self-rising flour, divided
  • 70g sugar
  • 40g cherries
  • 55g 70 percent cocoa dark chocolate
  • 30g sliced almonds (optional)
  • 60ml vegan butter or coconut oil
  • 240ml almond milk
  • Ninja Double Stack XL 9.5L Air Fryer – SL400

Directions

  1. Insert a crisper plate in a basket and spray it with cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together 240g of flour and the sugar.
  3. Using kitchen shears, snip the cherries and chocolate directly into the flour and stir to blend.
  4. Stir in the almonds, if using, with the chocolate and cherries.
  5. Using a fork, blend the butter or coconut oil into the flour mixture. Stir in the milk.
  6. Put the remaining 30g flour on a sheet of wax paper and turn out the dough onto it.
  7. Knead lightly by folding and turning 6 to 8 times.
  8. Pat the dough into a 6x6-inch square.
  9. Cut the dough into 9 equal-size pieces and lay the squares in the basket. Arrange them close together but not quite touching.
  10. Then insert the basket in Zone 1. Select Zone 1. Turn the dial to select BAKE, set the temperature to 180°C, and set the time to 10 minutes. Press START/PAUSE to begin cooking. Cook until lightly browned.
