Banana-Nut Oatmeal

Oatmeal ranks as my personal favorite in winter months, when every meal is an excuse to warm up. I used to make the quick packets of oatmeal until I learned that it was just as easy to make oatmeal from scratch. Plus, you can easily recreate all of your favorite flavors. This version of Banana-Nut Oatmeal is packed with warm spices, sweet bananas, and crunchy walnuts.

Ingredients

  • 1 banana, sliced, divided
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • ½ tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon Pinch sea salt
  • ¼ cup walnuts

Directions

  1. Place half of the banana, the oats, water, almond milk, maple syrup, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt into the blender pitcher in the order listed.
  2. Select COOK then HIGH and run for 5 minutes.
  3. Divide the oatmeal between two bowls and top with the remaining banana and walnuts, as desired.
